The Wheel Route - 22.15 (WEEK 7 RECAP)
While our picks didn’t necessarily deliver this week the on-field action did as we were treated multiple field-stormings, highlighted by Tennessee taking down Alabama.

Plenty of key matchups on the board this week including 6 ranked-on-ranked games, all of which we’ll pick against the spread; bonus Bad Defensive Coordinator discussion! Games picked = Penn State @ Michigan, Alabama @ Tennessee, Oklahoma State @ TCU, NC State @ Syracuse, Mississippi State @ Kentucky, and USC @ Utah.
No disastrous upsets in Week 6 but plenty to discuss include JMU’s breach of the Top 25, Texas and Tennessee being fully back, and Alabama/TAMU getting messy once again.
Fewer true top-25 matchups on the board than this week, in part because several brand names (Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, etc.) have not taken care of business so far this season. Games picked = Tennessee @ LSU, TCU @ Kansas, Utah @ UCLA, Washington State @ USC, and Kansas State @ Iowa State.
Week 5 was much kinder to our picks! Wisconsin and Colorado fired their head coaches, Clemson is back to winning big-ish games so it’s time to pick on Dabo again, and much more.
Week 5’s schedule looks good on paper (five top-25 matchups!) but might not look so great on the actual field - games picked = Kentucky @ Ole Miss, Alabama @ Arkansas, Oklahoma State @ Baylor, Wake Forest @ FSU, and NC State @ Clemson.
Tough week for several schools close to our collective hearts salvaged by a JMU win in Boone, another head coach has been fired, Kansas might be a football state, and more!
Week 4 brings us a heavier dose of conference matchups and with that, hopefully some additional clarity on who some of these teams actually are/what they're capable of. Games picked = Clemson @ Wake Forest, Duke @ Kansas, Florida @ Tennessee, Notre Dame @ North Carolina, and Arkansas vs Texas A&M.
After a wild Week 2, Week 3 was relatively kind to the schools in the top 25, though we did see some scares at Florida and Arkansas; we also confirmed that Georgia still looks good, Kalen DeBoer gets guys open, and Tommy Rees has some old-school verbal abuse in his coaching toolbox.
In addition to looking at the final week of largely non-conference action ahead, we’ve got some bonus tennis talk and updates on Floridian lawncare and public transportation. Games picked = BYU @ Oregon, Penn State @ Auburn, Texas Tech @ NC State, Michigan State @ Washington, and Miami @ Texas A&M.
The Sun Belt gave us a Blood Week for the ages, delivering not one but two Top-10 upsets on the road AND beating Nebraska in what ultimately became Scott Frost’s final game at the helm.
Back from the holiday weekend with what should be the final jumbo-sized episode for a while this season - we’ve got plenty of delightful Week 1 happenings to discuss and a decent-looking Week 2 as well. Games picked = Alabama @ Texas, Tennessee @ Pittsburgh, Iowa State @ Iowa, Kentucky @ Florida, and Baylor @ BYU.
Join us as we review some of the more interesting Week 0 action and prepare ourselves for 5 straight days with college football games. Games picked = WVU @ PITT, Oregon v Georgia, Cincinnati @ Arkansas, Utah @ Florida, and Notre Dame @ Ohio State.
Games are bearing down upon us once again so we managed to fit plenty of updates on the local competitive golf scenes AND 3 conference previews (starting at 36:40) AND two Week 0 picks against the spread into a single beefy episode.
After a much-deserved hiatus, we’re back to prepare both you and ourselves for the kickoff of the 2022 college football season - this week we knock the rust off with brief looks at the Big 12 and PAC 12.
Join us as we bid farewell to the 2021 season and celebrate Georgia’s national championship win, talk some potential coaching carousel updates, and get a brief update on the bachelor franchise.
2021 has come and gone, and with it several bowl games & coaching staffs - join us to discuss the holidays, golf resolutions for the new year, postseason action, and the winding down of the coaching carousel.
Checking back in to discuss bowls, the coaching landscape, signing day, our amateur golf careers, and much more nonsense.
Checking in to respect the troops and talk some Army-Navy, get an update on various JMU teams, and catch up on the coaching landscape with a focus on Tony Elliott going to UVA.
We’re back to recap a weekend of conference champions being settled, playoff rankings getting finalized, and coaches continuing to shuffle around about the country.
